Sooner Completions provides the following wellsite supervision to operators in Oklahoma, Southern Kansas, and the Barnett and Railroad District 10 in Texas:

Rig Operator

Job Summary:   This position requires a minimum of 10 YEARS experience operating a double drum well service rig. Operator is responsible for operating the rig, managing the crew, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Operator is responsible for maintaining safety and productivity standards for all rig functions and ensures all preventative maintenance is carried out on the rig and supplemental equipment. Operator also is responsible for leading the crew in all health, safety, and environmental training.

Required Experience:   5 years as rig operator.

Location:   Oklahoma. Mainly in Central Oklahoma, but travel to other parts of the State will be required.


 Job Requirements/Responsibilities:
  • Extensive Service Rig operations experience; ideally having worked previously in all relevant positions including Operator or Derrickhand, as a minimum.
  • Enforce company's HSE program by ensuring crew follow safety procedures; maintain a safe working environment for all rig employees.
  • Ensure crew follow all company policies and are at the rig and prepared to work at scheduled time.
  • Operate the assigned rig and equipment in accordance with the contractual terms and conditions as designated by customers.
  • Maintain regular contact with the company man to resolve complaints, concerns or other issues.
  • Ensure a high-level of service quality is delivered to customers - Maintain productivity standards for all rig functions,
  • Maintain a clean rig, tools, crew truck and doghouse.
  • Perform monthly inventory of rig equipment, tools, and HSE equipment.
  • Maintain a positive and safe work environment for the assigned rig crew.
  • Train and coach crew in carrying out their assigned duties on the rig.
  • Possess all safety tickets and certifications as per industry regulations.
  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform routine repairs and maintenance.
  • Possess outstanding leadership, supervisory, mentoring and communication skills.
  • Possess a valid drivers license, CDL preferred.
